AFTER 25 YEARS, NAAAP ADOPTS NEW MISSION & VISION
At its annual National Leadership Retreat (held this year in Toronto, Canada), the Board of Directors of the National Association of Asian American Professionals (NAAAP) formally adopted a new vision and mission!
NAAAP’s Vision:
“We make leaders!"
NAAAP’s Mission is to:
- Cultivate and empower leaders for professional excellence
- Connect accomplished professionals for mutual success
- Engage and participate with the community-at-large
- Inspire leaders to make a meaningful difference in government, education, business, and society
As a result of this change, NAAAP will continue to provide opportunities for professional development, community service and cultural awareness, but with a strong focus on developing real leaders in all fields.
NAAAP is committed to giving value to its members and its corporate sponsors. What we see as the biggest need is leadership development and training so that members can reach their full potential whatever their professional background.
Given this new vision and mission, NAAAP is providing a Leadership Forum at its 2008 National Diversity Career Fair & Convention in Los Angeles (August 21-24) which NAAAP will open up to Corporate Sponsors, NAAAP members and local Asian community leaders. We are also developing a Leadership Program Curriculum as well as an Asian Professionals Speakers Bureau.
This year continues to be an exciting period of rapid growth for NAAAP!
About NAAAP:
The National Association of Asian American Professionals (NAAAP) is the largest volunteer-based 501(c) (3) non-profit organization that cultivates, supports, and promotes Asian American leaders through professional development, community service, and networking. Growing into our 25th year, NAAAP now spans over 25 metropolitan regions across North America.
